Abstract

The implementation of comprehensive sexual education (CSE) in Chile presents several shortcomings compared to the advances in other Spanish-speaking countries. This article seeks to reflect on the importance of overcoming these shortcomings and implementing sexual education compatible with sexual and reproductive rights, and that addresses sexuality in a comprehensive way. This reflection is based on the presentation of various background information on the implementation and appreciation of sexual education, a documentary analysis of secondary sources that address the problem described, and also the perspective of the educational movement that promotes the establishment of CSE. The article reflects on issues such as curricular appropriation, teaching commitment and the fight for CSE within educational demands in Chile.
