The COVID-19 pandemic and the declaration of national health emergency in Mexico modified the organization of national institutions in all areas, including education. Social distancing strategies were implemented to prevent and mitigate the virus transmission, and that implied choosing virtual learning environments to continue the teaching-learning process. This text reflects on main challenges of e-learning during quarantine, and how this experience can be used to strengthen social skills and mastery of technologies that should be considered to enrich the teaching-learning process,
especially considering that similar conditions may occur in the future.
