Normative and institutional guarantees regarding education and gender in Chile

Abstract

This article briefly presents the trajectory of the institutional regulations that have made it possible to advance in the installation of the gender perspective in Education and the ethical, political and institutional consequences that challenge and stress the education system as a whole. The article is an excerpt from the not yet published document Analysis of the Chilean Educational System from the Gender Perspective. This document was prepared at the resquest of the Gender Equity Unit of the Ministry of Education (Mineduc) with the objective of having relevant and current information on Education and Gender in the context of the process of Reform of the education system carried out in the recent years.
