This research aimed at analyzing female entrepreneurship, the perceptions and strategies of the dynamic personal life-working life of
Chilean female entrepreneurs. In doing so, semi-structured interviews were conducted using content analysis. Results indicated that the
female entrepreneurs must take charge of their high work demands and their high personal demands, a situation which is not considered by their close environment and public institutions. This challenges their business development and has negative consequences for their mental health. Based on this analysis, entrepreneurship arises as a neoliberal, gendered and precarious practice that undermines women’s lives and so current entrepreneurship-aimed policies need to be reframed.
