Penelope`s odyssey. Females Subjectivities in Peruvian narrative of the late twentieth century

Abstract

In the last decades women redefined their position in society, thanks to its growing role in jobs, increasing of education level, falling in the fecundity rate, increasing and the presence of social political and female organization. This change in female reference makes possible change in its representation that come out from them. The objective of this work is to take a view in the brief elaborated narrative by Peruvian female writes in last decade XX century. I want to analyze the nature of these literary representations and check how up to a point is evidenced the changes experienced by women in their daily lives. For this I have chosen four texts: “Al final del círculo” by Carla Sagástegui; “Futuro prometido” by Pilar Dugui; “Tres hermanas” by Giovanna Pollarolo; and “Aura” by Rocío Silva Santisteban.
